Sculpting has always been a big stress reliever in my life. A way to calm my nerves and express myself. Apoxie Sculpt is the only sculpting medium I use, it’s basically what I learned to sculpt with.
About the Artist
My name is LT. Bowens, I’m a self taught artist who has been sculpting & illustrating since 2011. I work a regular full time job by day and work as an Artist by night. I started an Etsy shop to not only hone my craft, but to do what I love for a living one day.
About The Piece
First I pre-sculpt many small pieces of things like flowers and such separately. A thick glass vessel is used for the base of the jar, and a wooden piece for the lid base. I apply a medium layer of Apoxie Sculpt to the entire jar. I then place my pre-sculpted pieces and gemstones into a jar before it sets. I sculpt the shape of the lid and handle to my liking. Once everything is cured, I then begin sculpting the larger and more detailed parts.This process can take about 3 days to a week depending on how much detail I add.
My art is heavily inspired by Folklore, Mythology, Religion, and The Occult. I also have a fascination with nature and all the creatures within it. Sculpting has always been a big stress reliever in my life. A way to calm my nerves and express myself. I find peace immersing myself in the fantasy of all, and running away from the worries of the world. All creations are carefully sculpted, hand painted, and most importantly one of a kind.
