Clayshay is an innovative, non-hazardous with no asbestos and 0% Shrinkage mache. Designed to be Different based on how thick or thin you mix it. Mix it thick to feel & handle like clay or mix thin to be like a mache. This product has a double set to lock in details and eliminate shrinkage. Its brown body is lightweight, strong & very versatile for universal applications as clay or a mache. It can be carved, filed, sanded, painted, or otherwise finished after set-up.
Uses include: sculpting, design & art prototypes, casting, model construction, theatrical props, model railroad scenery, artificial rocks, habitat, base & mannikin building, wildlife art, conventional clay, & mache hand lay-up applications, more!

- ClayShay™ has a double set to lock in details & eliminate shrinkage. The first soft set occurs about one hour after mixing ClayShay™ with water. The second, hard set, occurs when moisture dries off in 1 to 4 days.
- ClayShay™ can be carved, filed, sanded, painted or other wise finished after set up.
Directions
Measure dry mache powder as needed into a bowl/bucket that is okay to get dirty. Mix mache powder with water to desired consistency.
*Suggested mixing ratios (mache to water):
3:1 Batter-like for casting & molds
5:1 Clay-like for hand lay-up applications
Set up time is about 1 hour depending on the mixed consistency. Clayshay can be carved after set-up time has passed and until it is fully cured. Full cure 1- 4 days depending on size & thickness of project. Allow product to dry slowly & evenly at room temperature away from heat until hardened.
Simple water clean-up.
Finish and paint as desired.
*Keep out of reach of children. Safe for adults when used as directed. Wear goggles and dust mask when sanding cured mache. Keep unused mache closed and dry.
DANGER – contains crystalline silica known to be a human carcinogen via respiratory route. Applies only to the cured clay product when sanded or abraded in some manner to create airborne dust. Hazard Statements – H350 May cause cancer (inhalation of dust). H372 Causes damage to the lungs through prolonged and repeated exposure to dust. Product contains an ingredient that is on the CA Proposition 65 list.
