About the Art: Bohemian Jewelry
I’ve been teaching unconventional Bohemian jewelry for over a decade and I’m always trying to come up with something new to teach to my students. This little book was introduced a few years ago and became one of my most requested classes.
The front and back covers are made with Apoxie Sculpt natural color self hardening clay and I show my students how to make it look like an antique leather book using layers of paint, stamped impressions and findings. We then construct 5 signatures, in miniature, that open and articulate just like a real book. To finish, I show them how to decorate the outside with lots of dangles and tassels for a bohemian feel. It can be held in the palm of your hand and worn as a necklace.
The book is only 2 x 1 3/4 inches with ½ inch spine. For more information on how to make your own Olde World mini journal necklace I invite you to check out my online school.
About the Artist: Robin Dudley Howes
Hello I’m Robin, The Artsy Bohemian. Creating art and teaching creativity is a way of life for me and has been my main source of joy and income for over 20 years. When I get excited about a project I like to share my knowledge with others and over the years I’ve taught hundreds of classes at large National art retreats to cozy home gatherings. Through those years, my work has been published in dozens of many well recognized art magazines and a few books. My most recent accomplishment is the opening of my online school.
My education in creativity spans decades with a persistent curiosity to learn, living and breathing a truly creative life every day and the adventures I have traveled to get there. Through my trials and errors, my goal is to share the victories I’ve achieved, with you.
