John Deere Lawn Mower Hood Repair with Fixit!

The old brittle plastic of this John Deere lawn mower was severely cracked when it’s reckless owner drove it headlong into a tree (the tree is fine).
We combined Fixit and Apoxie Paste with pre-mixed John Deere green paint to create a strong and flexible bonding agent to hold the hood together – while handling the heat of the engine.
To finish off the project we used Safety Solvent to smooth out the application and blend it in with the hood, trees don’t stand a chance against this mower now!

We did some expirinmenting with Apoxie Sculpt colors to get the right green - to be clear we did not use Apoxie Sculpt. This is FIXIT mixed with Apoxie Paste and latex paint.
You can see the strength in these bonds, including the fragile ventilation on the side.
