This letter was sent to Aves Studio from a May 15, 1996 Dear Dave, I thought I should send you a picture of the infamous pollen grain I made for the National Zoo at the Smithsonian Institute, out of Apoxie® Sculpt. The inner core of this 22" diameter pollen grain is made from styrene foam and the cones are made from manilla folders. The model was then covered in 28 pounds of your product. . . . This model now hangs in a greenhouse, near one of the nozzles of the misting system. The butterflies that live in the greenhouse find the sculpture a convenient resting place. Thank you for your help, Dave. I'll be calling you up soon with another one of my projects. Sincerely, J. Bailey, Rockville, Maryland. |
